[Document] 1722 Jun. 22 / Samuel Sewall.

The deed of Samuel Sewall conveying 100 acres of land in Braintree to Edmond Quincy for the sum of 100 pounds. The deed is signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of Paul Dudley and Jos: Hiller. In addition the deed is acknowledged by the Justice of the Peace Ed. Bromfield on Jun. 22, 1722 and received and recorded in the records for the County of Suffolk by John Ballantine, Register of Deeds. The deed is recorded in Lib. XXXVI folio 63. A later note indicates the land was sold to Nath. & Zach. Thayr in Sep. 1740.

Samuel Sewell was born 28 March 1652 Bishop Stoke England. He arrived in Boston 1661. He was Commissioner of the Company for the Progagation of the Gospel in New England and Parts Adjacent (1699-1730), Captain of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Co., Overseer of Harvard College, Judge of Probate for Suffolk Co.
